Ardagh Poland's sustainable technology

Ardagh Glass Packaging - Europe (AGP - Europe) has designed its newest glass furnace in Poland with the latest available suite of sustainable technology for reducing emissions and improving energy and resource efficiency. Ceramic Candle Filter technology and a Continuous Emission Monitoring System have been installed to achieve and maintain low emission levels while gas, electricity and water consumption will be reduced through a combination of heat recovery, turbo compressors, water recovery and a closed loop cooling system.

Ardagh’s ENERGY STAR plant certification

Ardagh Glass Packaging – North America (AGP – NA), a business of Ardagh Group, was awarded an ENERGY STAR® plant certification for its glassmaking facility in Madera, California, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Ardagh’s Madera facility demonstrates superior energy performance and performs within the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. The Madera facility manufactures approximately one million glass containers per day for the U.S. wine market.

Ardagh reduces water use across Europe

Reducing water consumption across Ardagh Glass Packaging - Europe (AGP - Europe) is a key element of Ardagh Group’s Sustainability Strategy, which targets a 26% water intensity reduction by 2030, with the aim of delivering environmental sustainability and production efficiency in the glassmaking process.

To achieve this, AGP - Europe has undertaken significant investments in water reduction projects across its 20 sites, which are on track to reduce water usage by one-third, helping to achieve the 2030 target.

Ardagh awarded ENERGY STAR certification

Ardagh Group’s distribution center in Fairfield, California, U.S. was awarded an ENERGY STAR® building certification for superior energy performance from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Fairfield distribution center primarily serves Ardagh’s packaging distribution needs in the West Coast to better service the wine industry.
