Two Ardagh Group Customers Win Clear Choice Awards

Ardagh Group, Glass – North America, a division of Ardagh Group and a leading producer of glass containers for the food and beverage industries in the United States, is pleased to announce that two of its customers were awarded Clear Choice Awards by the Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) this week. Ardagh Group manufactures the award-winning glass packaging for Robert Mondavi Winery’s Maestro 50th Anniversary Wine and Sir Kensington’s Organic Mayonnaise.

The elegant, glass wine bottle Ardagh Group manufactured for Constellation Brands’ Robert Mondavi Winery won GPI’s Clear Choice Award in the Wine category. In 2000, Robert Mondavi commissioned a special piece of music to celebrate the opening of the To Kalon Cellar, and then conducted the music during the Gala. That event was the inspiration for the truly magnificent glass bottle with a brilliant gold label that showcases Robert Mondavi as the maestro of the winery for the Maestro 50th Anniversary Wine.

The classic, tasteful design of the mayonnaise jar Ardagh Group manufactured for Kensington & Sons won GPI’s 2016 Clear Choice Award in the Food category. When it comes to organic integrity, Kensington & Sons recognizes the importance of glass packaging to maintain the purity and freshness of Sir Kensington’s Organic Mayonnaise. The company takes pride in using simple, high-quality ingredients, and the glass jar provides the perfect package to maintain the freshness of its product.

Since 1989, the Clear Choice Awards has honored consumer product goods (CPG) manufacturers who find unique ways to use glass packaging to tell the story of brands, create glass packaging designs that stand out on the shelf, and demonstrate novel glass packaging looks.

The Clear Choice Awards are sponsored by the Glass Packaging Institute, the trade association representing the North American glass container manufacturers.

“The 2016 Clear Choice Award winners reflect the intricate beauty and elegant simplicity brands are able to attain with glass packaging,” said Lynn Bragg, President of GPI. “Every year, the vast majority of new products launched in beer, wine and spirits are packaged in glass containers, and GPI, through the Clear Choice Awards, is proud to recognize and celebrate the leaders in innovation and design.”
