North America investing in STEM education
Under the social pillar of our sustainability strategy, we have committed to invest approximately $50 million from 2021 - 2032 in the local communities in which our U.S. facilities are located. It is expected that over the next 10 years, Ardagh sponsored education programs will benefit more than 500,000 PreK-12 students.
Our education investment programme aims to support high-quality teachers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines to inspire students’ STEM understanding and interest. We have partnered with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) who provide students from pre-kindergarten through high school (PreK-12) with hands-on manufacturing and engineering pathway options and real-world challenges, while focusing on teacher training and continuous innovation.
This investment will lead to more opportunities at Ardagh, enabling students with practical, hands-on knowledge in STEM disciplines to work with our teams. We intend to launch similar education initiatives in our Brazilian and European communities.
