Recently, Ardagh Metal Packaging USA Inc.’s Conklin operation was recognized for operating one year without disposing of waste into a landfill. The “Zero Landfill” award was presented by Chris Kline of Bert Adams Disposal and Richard D’Attilio of the Broome County IDA.

“From the start, we have committed to recycling our plant’s waste,” said Mike Shelhamer, Plant Manager of the Conklin facility. “Our employee-driven recycling program has been challenging but worth the effort.” Shelhamer continued, “Recycling is a critical part of Sustainability which is one of Ardagh’s “pillars” for operating. Achieving “Zero Landfill” status goes beyond this and I am proud of our team’s achievement.” The LEED Certified facility has been operating in Conklin since August 2010.
